When you’ll start looking at outdoors and semi-public spaces as artistic space - there are potential venues everywhere, surprising audience interactions on every corner, shared laughter between strangers in every park.
Don’t be afraid of the public space, be excited! Join us on this 90 minute crash course in the whys, whats and hows of presenting art in our common and shared (and often outdoor) spaces.
Halmstad International Street Theatre Festival and Passage Festival (Helsingör / Helsingborg) invites you to learn more about performative arts for youth and kids in public or semi-public space – the two festivals – with half century of experience between them will show you both great examples and a handful of arguments why your next artistic project should be in the sphere where almost anyone has access.
The seminar will touch on audience development, youth and kids in participatory art, public art as a catalyst for change in socio-economically challenging areas - as well as the absolutely essential an practical question of venue-creation in rural and small towns where there are no built space for presenting art.
