”You get used to the beauty” / “We don’t hang out – we walk around”

The seminar’s title consists of quotes from youth in Norrbotten (the far north of Sweden) and Botkyrka (a suburb of Stockholm). It is also the titles of two productions based on young people’s own stories from what is considered to be the periphery. 

The departure points for both productions are interviews, group discussions and interactive work with 13 – 16 year olds in Norrbotten and Botkyrka. The performances are the result of a process in which young people’s influence has been the guiding concept. We present a process in which the power has been given to the subject, to shape the production, to see their own lives transported to the stage.
