Social Circus – Art, laughter, change
Come to a seminar with Cirkus Cirkör, Clowner utan Gränser (Clowns without Borders) and Sorin Sirkus!
About serious playfulness, the role of art in education and concrete examples of how you can create change with your art form. All three organisations work with circus as a tool in different ways - with universities, with vulnerable groups and in refugee camps. The seminar contains three different parts: Historical context around the concept of "Social Circus", how the concept has emerged and how circus companies have worked with it in their artistic activities in different parts of the world.
Good examples from Clowner utan Gränser, Sorin Sirkus and Cirkus Cirkör on how art can be used in a social context.
A conversation based on various issues such as:
Is there a conflict between artistic activity and work where the art form is used in a social context?
Humour and the place of play in social circus.
How can we use art and pedagogy for social change?
