Rotviska

  • Scen:se/Folkteatern Gävleborg

A sensory theatre adventure through tangled roots, rustling foliage, and everything in between. At the heart of an ancient tree, full of life and movement, Rotviska follows every shift in nature. Here, the old makes way for the new, and all living things depend on one another. Rotviska is a sensory theatre performance created especially for children and young people with complex disabilities. They encounter the tree’s characters and experience a playful, sensory adventure among wind-swept treetops and earthy depths, through tangled roots, rustling foliage, and everything in between.

Rotviska reflects our shared commitment to making the performing arts more accessible to children and young people with disabilities, adapted to their needs. “We are honored to contribute our experience in accessible theatre to such an important and meaningful project, and I am confident that this performance will be a memorable experience for our audience,” says Andrew Stanford, director.

Rotviska is a new international collaboration between Folkteatern Gävleborg, Estrad Norr, Scen:se (Sweden), and Replay Theatre Company (Northern Ireland), aimed at adapted primary and secondary schools.

In spring 2027, Rotviska will continue its tour in Northern Ireland.
