The Climate, our most important story - The role of performing arts in the climate transition

Discussion and presentation on the role of performing arts in the climate transition in two parts.

PART 1

What methods and strategies do freelance artists need to contribute to sustainability in all aspects of performing arts production? Is there a contradiction between artistic relevance and green transition? How do freelance directors, stage designers and producing organisations need to work together to move forward?

In January 2024, the workshop "Performing Green - climate our most important story" took place. Directors and scenographers from the Nordic and Baltic countries gathered at Folkteatern in Gävleborg to develop their skills and create networks around ecological sustainability work from an artistic perspective.

A panel consisting of participants from the course and course leaders from Performing Green share strategies, approaches and insights. How to speed up the necessary climate change in the performing arts?

Performing Green is a collaboration between ASSITEJ, Folkteatern Gävleborg and TeaterAlliansen with support from Nordic Culture Point.
