Angereds Teater

My grandfather he listens well. He usually sits there with his hands on his knees and leans forward a little. He hears me, what I give. He kind of asked: What's wrong with you at school? Ah, has it happened in school! So he says. He's looking at me. I see myself in his eyes. Like in the middle of the little black thing in the middle. Then I know that he hears what I say and listens to me.

In a world of inside and out with falling walls, huts, swings and climbing trees, we meet children and their adults. Adults who decide everything, who are there to spend the night and protect, who think softly but talk loudly. An adult who fights, an adult who betrays, a scary adult, a funny adult, a role model. There are adults who do not listen, there are those who listen.

In the adult world, it is common to like and think about children, but the year when the children's convention became Swedish law, Angereds Teater became the perspective and let the children like the adults. What are adults really good for and what should you use them for? Våra viktigaste vuxna are based on in-depth interviews with children of different ages, conducted by Ylva Martens, award-winning journalist and author.

Motivation of the jury:

With a solid text base from in-depth interviews with children, insightful, brutal, funny, tender and peppery performing arts are created. Without diminishing the complexity, both children's and adults' changing conditions and relationships are embodied in a changing stage space, which is ingeniously and congenially expanded as the stories and perspectives develop.
