Jobbigt

  • Ofelia Jarl Ortega

The Jury’s Motivation

In Jobbigt, we encounter Ofelia Jarl Ortega’s conceptually tight and contemporary choreography as four dancers attempt the seemingly impossible: to collaborate as a group. What is their collaboration about? This remains unclear — but that is beside the point, instead becoming a humorous and clever premise that generates unexpected and playful choreography with a high level of recognition. Jobbigt is a charming, musical performance that explores and expands the twists and turns and potential of the art of dance.

Jobbigt is Ofelia Jarl Ortega’s first dance piece for a younger audience. Together with Marcus Baldemar, Ane Carlsen, Andrew Hardwidge and Laura Linna, the work explores existential questions about what it means to be part of a group. Sometimes you get what you want — sometimes you don’t.

There is a lot to be done. Four dancers try to figure out how to do things in the best possible way. It involves a lot of work, and some pretending.

Jobbigt is a performance for the whole family, recommended for children aged 4–9, but created to be enjoyed together by audiences of all ages.
