En ny värld

  • Helsingborgs Konserthus

What makes me feel at home? Scents, tastes, sounds…
Why does the forest behind our house feel so safe, while the forest somewhere else feels strange and frightening? When I open my own fridge, everything feels normal and familiar, but when I open someone else’s, it suddenly feels different. Why does ours feel like ours, and theirs like theirs? Our forest, our jam, our music… Where are the boundaries of my culture? If I come to a new country — a new world — can it become mine?

Welcome to En ny värld! Listen as Saga Ljungberg — a versatile musical artist, currently studying at the Ballet Academy in Gothenburg — shares thoughts on home and away, belonging and exclusion, through words and song. Together with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, she weaves her story with Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony, where folk music and powerful themes reflect the journey of finding one’s place in a new world.
